Making a UI fit on a small screen is easy with Swing in most cases. The three windows I pointed out all have large resizable controls like text fields and lists, so it should be easy to make them fit on a smaller screen. > I would prefer (I'm sorry to say) that we leave it as is, and hope > that technology advances resolve issues like this. Right now, I classify it as a bug. Either it should work correctly at 800x600 or the program and the web site should tell you that it's not going to work at 800x600. > If there is something simple (like scrolling the pane), then it > would be okay, but I caution against trying to make small screen > sizes operable. My plan was to replace my old PC laptop with a nice new Mac laptop, but after reading the JDK 1.4 thread, I'm starting to think about waiting a while longer.
