On Windows 2000, when loading a project the kernel (as opposed to user) CPU usage is very high to the point where the rest of the system becomes almost unusable -- even the mouse stops moving or moves very jerkily. With the length of time it can take to load a project, this can be rather annoying. The only way I've been able to work around this is to set the process's priority to BelowNormal using the Task Manager.
