+1 Ideally, associating a particular code style with a file (or package, or project/source path?). I work with disparate sources written by different people, often in the same project, which have different styles (tabbing, indents, curly braces). I tend to use the Principle of Least Astonishment - ie. adopt the style of the file you're editing.
Ooh - just had an idea: make the list of defined code styles a dropdown in the toolbar like the run list. Select the style appropriate to the file, then hit reformat! But I like the idea of associating code styles with files too - or have some way for IDEA to remember which code style is appropriate.
