IDE Options to set the color for various aspects of the Structure Tree,
Project Tree, etc. would allow for this as well as a custom look for a user.
This would allow me to set bold for public, normal for protected, gray for
private if I preferred.
I could also set colors/emphasis for certain file types if I so desired. The icon
only helps for "file type groups".

Subject: [Eap-features] Gray Private Members in Structure

I like that targets without descriptions in the Ant tab are grayed. In a
way... they are "private", or in other words, internal to the build.xml.
Along those lines I propose another small feature. The Structure tab (much
like the Ant tab) displays the strucutre of Java files... I believe that
private members should be grayed. Yes, I am aware of that nice little red
lock icon, but if the name of the member were grayed then it would emphasize
the private nature of it even more AND it would be more consistent with
graying non-described ant targets. I am not sure, but you may want to
consider graying (or considering alternate stronger shades of gray) for
protected members.
