I notice that I have the option of clicking on "Background" when I
choose to compile my project. However, this ability seems mostly
ornamental as Idea will be almost completely frozen for the duration of
the compile. However, other applications (running XP) run fine while
Idea is compiling. This leads me to believe that it should be possible
for Idea to compile and run relatively smoothly simultaneously. Perhaps
the thread that is doing all that work could be assigned a lower
priority? Personally, I'd set it to the lowest.
