I was just going to ask for exactly the same thing. My example is between JSP and other files - but the same applies.

Also a related request:
Could we have auto-hide of panes that make no sense in the current
context. eg. In our projects I often find myself using idea to edit a
simple test ASP file. But I also usually have the structure pane open
and of course this makes no sense for ASP and so is left blank -
better to auto-hide it until a file type that can use it is selected
in the editor.
