Hi,
for windows
installations, it is quite annoying that a DOS window always sits there after
startup of IDEA or pops up when IDEA launches an external command. This could
be improved by a java-only launcher (like e.g. lax). Paths and startup
properties should be specified in a .properties or XML file. Using batch files
is a total pain in the a*. On UNIX systems, however, shell scripts are
generally more acceptable. The most user-friendly solution could be an
executable JAR file that loads its startup settings from an external property
file editable by the user.
