STARTUP: Something like this feature is already in release builds of IDEA, which launch via their own EXE file. Ariadna doesn't use it because it probably hides exceptions or isn't compatible with recent changes to the IDE.
EXTERNAL COMMANDS: IIRC, there's a setting somewhere to have them put their console output in an IDEA subwindow. Maybe it's not supported under certain Windows variants, I don't know. Works fine for me. -EtherMage ----- Original Message ----- From: Klemm, Mirko To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, May 03, 2002 3:44 AM Subject: [Eap-features] Startup improvement ... for windows installations, it is quite annoying that a DOS window always sits there after startup of IDEA or pops up when IDEA launches an external command. This could be improved by a java-only launcher (like e.g. lax). Paths and startup properties should be specified in a .properties or XML file. Using batch files is a total pain in the a*. On UNIX systems, however, shell scripts are generally more acceptable. The most user-friendly solution could be an executable JAR file that loads its startup settings from an external property file editable by the user. ... _______________________________________________ Eap-features mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.intellij.com/mailman/listinfo/eap-features
