I'm still seeing this too.

I'm still seeing some replies well ahead of the original post. This
question from Eugene showed up for me at 3:32pm, while the response to it
showed up at 3:04pm.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior or is my employer's message server
messing with my head?

Hi Chad,
Does the problem exist with the Sun's JDK?

Subject: [Eap-list] Offtopic (?): Dissapearing dialogs

Hello -

I have a problem w/ dialogs coming up without painting their contents (on
every version of IDEA that I've used so far)... For example, if I select the
Refactor > Rename option using a mouse, a dialog frame will be displayed,
the content will flash, and a empty dialog will remain. Once I force the
dialog to repaint (by dragging it behind another window), everything is
fine. This also occurs w/ Frameless dialogs (e.g., Insert Live Template).
However, if I invoke the same functionality via a hot-key (i.e., not using
the mouse), the dialog is displayed correctly...

I know that the File > Open functionality uses the Swing component, and it
too displays this behavior, so I'm pretty sure that its a Swing bug (since
this problem also manifests itself under IBM's VM). The kicker is that
*this problem only occurs on my home computer* and not my office computer
(both are running Win2K SP 2)...

The home computer is a 1.4 GHz P4 w/ GeForce2, and the office computer is a
500 MHz P3, so I'm suspecting that it may be due to some direct-draw bug.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance, Chad Stansbury
