Another suggestion:
Perhaps using the mouse wheel with a modifier. So Ctrl-MouseUpOrDown beings up the same dialog as Ctrl-E, scrolls up and down, and when the Ctrl is release, the selected editor opens. Actually, it would be nice to have alt-left and right work the same way. Make alt-left and right work like alt-tab does in windows.
With alt-left or right as it is, it takes too long to switch editors (the pause makes it difficult to tap the keys the right number of times to get to the editor I want).
With Ctrl-E, I have to hit Ctrl-E, then the up and down buttons (or file name), and return. Too many keys.

Subject: RE: [Eap-list] Annoying editor tabs 'feature'
I agree. We'll try to work out this issue for the next version,
probably also adding the close buttons to every tab. But how about
using Ctrl-E in Pandora to quickly jump to a recent file?
