#532 Seems to paint much more slowly.
A separate issue is that the dialogs seem slower. I first noticed this running the new project dialog. When I selected the ... button to set the project location it took at least 15 seconds to open the directory selection dialog. ( This reminds me. I would really like it if I had the option of just typing in the path I want to use.
