I run IDEA under Linux. On Linux, I run WindowMaker. The code insight popup displays the insight window, and dissapears right away. I tried under Gnome, and there was no problem. I sent an email to the WindowMaker list, and this was my response:
The "problem" is that Window Maker is ICCCM-compliant. Those Java IDE's do something inapropriate with their window size hints to the window manager: They specify a window with minimum and maximum sizes of 1x1 pixel, and then size those windows beyond those limits. Fixing this would probably break other, properly behaving, programs (hard to say beforehand). So, what is the response to this from this list? I would really like to get this working! I really enjoy coding in IDEA, and would rather use WindowMaker than Gnome, so that other programs can use the free memory. tia -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Paul Ashford* Diamond Technologies, Inc <http://www.diamondtechnologies.com> .
