I work with multiple branches of the same project, and I found it more
convenient just to create a different .ipr project file for each branch
instead of trying to use the same project file for multiple branches.

Subject: [Eap-list] Project file - relative paths?

Hi all

I've been looking at IntelliJ for my company, and I like it a lot so far,
but I have come across one puzzling issue. This is the issue of storing
paths in your project files as absolute paths instead of relative. This is a
catastrophic issue as far as I am concerned as I am routinely working with
multiple branchesof the same projects on my drive, which means obviously
that absolute paths are not an option.

I have tried going into the ipr file and manually changing the paths to the
absolute equivaliants, but that does not work. This is very unfortunate as
this renders IntelliJ unusable for us, which is a shame as it is a very fine
tool otherwise.

I have been informed by a collegue that this is something that has been
complained about by others, and is scheduled to be fixed. What I would
really like to know is when we can expect to see this issue rectified, as we
will not be willing to use IntelliJ IDEA until it is.
