Good news everyone, The 'environment-modules' which easybuild depends on has been officially packages for and included in the debian archives since 3rd of May 2012. [0] This also means it will get synced into the next ubuntu release (12.10 Quantal Quetzal [1]).
So now people will have an easy time getting dependencies for easybuild in .deb based distro's (an rpm is already available for a long time) I will link to the .deb file in the readme file and wiki.
