Hello EasyBuilders,

We're proud to announce the release of EasyBuild v1.5.0, which mainly features
bug fixes and support for new software packages.

Due to time constraints, we were unable to finish any of the fancy new
easybuild-framework features we are working on (e.g. lmod support, "fat"
easyconfigs, ...).
The monthly release schedule and the release-early, release-often philosophy
seems to be working out quite well, so we're sticking to it, even if there are
no new mindblowing features included.

Just like previous releases, EasyBuild v1.5.0 passed the ruthless regression
test [1], i.e., building all 1,340 included easyconfigs successfully!
The testing procedure went very smooth this time, with only 3 failing builds in
the first iteration. It seems like the more extensive unit testing that was
introduced in between v1.3.0 and v1.4.0 is paying off (see also [2]).

Don't forget to attend and actively contribute in the Birds-of-a-Feather
session on at ISC'13 [3], during which two members of the EasyBuild team (Stijn
and Jens) will poll for (other) best practices w.r.t. building and installing
(scientific) software.

EasyBuild v1.5.0 is available via GitHub[4] and PyPi [5]. Enjoy!

regards,

Kenneth
