I have not put in the time to try Spack. But the hierarchical Lmod support of EasyBuild is a big win, in terms of converting over our sysadmins. I got the sense from the docs that modules were not as well supported / thought through in Spack.
What I, as a user, really want is a single system with all the best features of both --- and a user community united behind it. I don't really care whether that happens by Spack implementing what EasyBuild does well, or by EasyBuild implementing what Spack does well. -- Elizabeth > Or people could just use Spack :).
