Sorry for only picking up on this now...
The failing sanity check basically tells me that the installation didn't
happen at all...
Check the "install_step" part of the log, and see if any errors are
reported there.
If the installation command exited with exit code 0, then EasyBuild
assumes the installation worked (and the fact that some installers
always exit with 0 regardless of success or failure is *exactly* why we
have the sanity check...).
