[ebookc] Extending ebookc?

Is there any concept of writing plugins or extension to ebookc? Or are 
there any plans to move ebookc to github so it can be forked or receive 
enhancements and pull requests for new features?

For example I like to change the behaviour in markdown for images, so it 
supports automatic image caption generation using the image title.
