Hi all, some of you are reporting that Samba file sharing stopped working yesterday 15 April 2010. This happens only if you have antivirus enabled. Clam Antivirus has disabled all installations older than 0.95: http://www.clamav.net/lang/en/2009/10/05/eol-clamav-094 .
To fix this issue make sure you have your system updated which is a general security recommendation. First, check that you have these lines in your /etc/apt/souces.list: deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates main restricted deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates universe deb http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates multiverse deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security main restricted deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security universe deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security multiverse To upgrade only Clam AV: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clamav clamav-base clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam libclamav6 To upgrade all your system (use with caution): $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get upgrade Or you can also use Software Management module on the eBox interface. To check you upgraded successfully to 0.95, you should get an output similar to this one: $ dpkg -l | grep clam ii clamav 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.3 anti-virus utility for Unix - command-line i ii clamav-base 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.3 anti-virus utility for Unix - base package ii clamav-daemon 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.3 anti-virus utility for Unix - scanner daemon ii clamav-freshclam 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.3 anti-virus utility for Unix - virus database ii libclamav6 0.95.3+dfsg-1ubuntu0.09.04~hardy2.3 anti-virus utility for Unix - library http://forum.ebox-platform.com/index.php?topic=3552 -- Jorge Salamero Sanz - Developer [email protected] eBox - Computer Networks Made Easy! eBox Technologies at www.ebox-technologies.com Download eBox at www.ebox-platform.com _______________________________________________ ebox-user mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ebox-platform.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/ebox-user
