hi,

if you have ssh enabled on ebox you could use scp to copy your file across to 
your linux desktop.
i have used to transfer many DVD isos and never failed; it is fast and secure.

If you have samba installed, enable it. Create a user and grant
 administration 
privileges on him. Save changes.

Now you have to access your ebox via smb:\\ebox_ip on a linux machine
 or 
\\ebox_ip on a windows machine. You will see a shared 
called: "ebox-internal-backups". Copy your backup there.
