I'm doing a system upgrade because of some hardware/software failure. The
basic problem with the system is users are getting knocked off for no
apparent reason and loosing network access. The ebox in question has been
running smoothly for just under a year, and I'm in the process of moving
from a debian ISO installed ebox to a ubuntu ebox. I've been doing my
testing of the transfer on a virtual network segment (both eboxes are VM's)
and when I do just a configuration backup and restore, only 4 out of my 30+
user accounts come across. The odd thing is the 4 users in question were
users made after my troubles started on the old ebox, leading me to discover
part of the software problem. I guess after I did an upgrade the nss-ldap
files cause samba to drop out, and I can not find a way to downgrade/upgrade
that package without killing the entire system. So I chose to move to ubuntu
(for other reasons too). Anyway looking at the slapcat from the new box, I
see only the 4 users accounts but the rest of the users show up in their
respective groups. When I dissect the backup file, I see all of the users.
Is there a should I be doing a slapadd command or would that freak out the
system?
Anyway the current version of the old ebox is 0.11.99 but as I said it was
installed about a year ago and has been updated every so often.
And the new box is 0.11.101
Any guidance would be helpful. Thanks.
