Greetings,
I purchased the EchoServer in order to make remote
support for my aged mother easier. I actually need to remote control both
her PC (8 states away) and my father-in-laws (2 states away). I've used
straight VNC in the past, but its always a process trying to get the proper IP
addresses, etc.
My question is this. I'd like to write a
silent installer that would install VNC and then install and configure
echoVNC. The install parts are easy, but getting the configuration might be
trickier. I see that the info is stored in the registry, so my thought was
to create a .reg file with the necessary info. However, I see that there
is an import/export function as well, so maybe it would be easier to create the
necessary connections on my PC, then export those and include them in the
install process.
What I need to end up with, is an install process
that requires only one mouse click <START> :) Once the 2
programs are installed, I want to automate the entry of the proper configuration
and register their PCs in the EchoServer without they're needing to do
anything. I realize this sounds a bit "spywareish" so I understand if you
don't want to provide details, but if someone could tell me if its best to use
the import/export rather than creating my own reg entries, at least that would
be some help.
Thanks!
