I don't have enough Vista clients (any, really, where I need UAC running),
but I found this (instructions for Real VNC, but applicable to Echo
variant)...
----------------
install the executable onto client machine.
hit “Next”
click radio “I accept agreement”
hit “next” for destination folder
hit “next” for full installation of server and viewer”
hit “next” for Start menu folder placement.
checkmark “create desktop Icon; UNcheck “register and configure for Server
Mode”
hit “next”
click” install”
click”next”
click “finish”
go to Start/all programs/real VNC/click VNC server (user-mode) (run as
administrator)
set a password.
go to “Start/all programs/real VNC/right-click VNC server mode (run as
administrator).
click Run VNC Server.
put “Run VNC server” into Startup folder; as (copy here).
test from your own workstation to ensure ability to VNC into Vista client
machine.
you should be able to VNC into it from either an XP or Vista machine.
