I have only installed the Debian package for eciadsl-usermode.0.5. The version of
pppoeci in that package version does not support the "-mode" flag. I see
(in the CVS repository at SourceForge) that the current code (pppoeci.c) does indeed
support that flag. Since I am currently not online (obviously, since
I'm still working on getting the ADSL connection working!) with my Linux laptop I am
forced to transfer downloaded stuff from my Windows 2000 machine to
the Linux machine via diskettes. Sad but true for the moment :-(.

Therefore I'd appreciate very much if someone could just provide me with a new binary
(i386) version of "pppoeci", if that new version works with the other
eciadsl-usermode.0.5 files. Then I can try out the options you've mentioned.

I still get occasional blocking when starting up the modem, and I assume it has to do
with synchronization problems. I would be glad to make a new .bin
sync file once I've sorted out my PPP problems and got the ADSL connection working.

I will also contact my ISP provider and check what protocols they're actually using.

Thanks for the quick replies!

/Paul
