It's not a real problem to me because I set the correct DNS IPs with
eciconf.sh so /etc/resolv.conf always has the right DNSs.
However, I'm not used to underestimate warning messages and obviously what
/var/log/messages collects while the OS works.

Please explain, what do you mean by "trace of the pppd exchange"? How can I
trace it? I'm not very deep in pppd usage, I generally work with Ethernet
connections and pppd is relatively new to me.
