Hi Markus,
How can I use the symbols in such an expression which I define in the
SymbolSetDefinition section using the GUI. There I can only give the name of
the symbol, can't assign any specific value to it.

Try the newest version. The old preprocessor was not able to use logical
expressions.
An example, how I use it in a Canvas class:
//#if JavaPlatform=="MIDP/2.0"
setFullScreenMode(true);
//#endif
