hello

I need some information about the advanced search and the result- page in Nuxeo:

Hello,

you should be aware that the current indexing and searching facilities are right now undergoing drastic changes. We are working on a generic search service that can in turn use different backends, the first one being Compass (http://www.opensymphony.org/compass).

The current default UI is rather rough.

- does Nuxeo correct typing errors when it builds the search index? we have documents from OCR with spelling errors which should be corrected automatically. - can Nuxeo check the search query for typing errors? so when I enter "vehiciule", Nuxeo for example says "Did you mean 'vehicule'?"

As far as I know, It's not been planned, but these are indeed interesting use cases. Thanks for mentioning them ! Note that other common use-cases such as handling of synonyms and stemming will be a simple matter of configuration with the Compass backend.

- is it possible to sort the search results, for example that the newest file is the first. or sort after the author, filetype etc...?

The new search service will allow it. With the current UI, you can fire an ORDER BY request.

-are there anywhere screenshots of the search site (simple and advanced search) and the result site?

I'm not sure, but they'd obsoleted very soon since the switch to the new Search Service and UI will occur before the end of next week.

Yours,
