Hi, I'm not sure whether it's really necessary to specify the dialect
in compass.cfg.xml, but it's not the only reason to make this file
overridable, which it is.
I haven't put in yet in the documentation, but basically that's why
nuxeo-platform-search-compass-plugin is put as an open jar in
nuxeo.ear by the maven build. This is of course intended as a
temporary hack until we can make the Compass configuration more
flexible.
