Hi Laurent,
Thanks for your pointers - it help me resolve the issue :-)
I was starting jboss with a different user to OpenOffice, and obviously
some file permissions were preventing it from working.
This leads me to think that the communication between Nuxeo
(JODConverter) and OpenOffice is not purely socket based? If there is
some form of 'file pickup' via the file system, how would this work
using a remote OpenOffice server?
Thanks ever so much - it has taken me ages to sort this one out!
Regards,
Sean

Dug a little deeper, but with no real success as yet.
Basically the root exception coming back from the JODConverter is:
com.artofsolving.jodconverter.openoffice.connection.OpenOfficeException:
conversion failed; com.sun.star.task.ErrorCodeIOException:
at
com.artofsolving.jodconverter.openoffice.converter.OpenOfficeDocumentConverter.convertInternal(OpenOfficeDocumentConverter.java:114)
Do you have an error with all documents you want to convert ?
what msOffice version is your testword.doc ? can it be opened manually
by this OOo vesion ?
Is OOo on the same machine than nuxeo-ep ?
does the OOo user have writting rights on temp directory ?
I'm trying to connect to OpenOffice 2.2.1 on a RedHat box by the way. I
I'm using OOo2.2.1 and it works
(even using the 2.2.0 OOo jars)
do have things working on a Ubuntu box that has OpenOffice 2.2.0, so
don't know if that is the problem. - I'd be happy to install 2.2.0 on
the RedHat box, but can't find any 2.2.0 rpms....
I do not think it is due to the 2.2.1 version (are you using redhat
version or OOo's project one ?)
btw, you'll find the 2.2.0 in the Native-Lang l10n repo.
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/2.2/OOo_2.2.0_LinuxX86_install_da_rpm.tar.gz
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/2.2/OOo_2.2.0_native_LinuxX86_langpacks_rpm/openoffice.org-en-US-2.2.0-9134.i586.rpm
but, this should be the last try
let me know
Laurent
