If memory serves, when it came time to write it, neither of the two main SOAP frameworks at the time worked well enough for me to provide sample code that worked reliably. Incidentally, I think I forgot to reply to your question about Debian packaging in a different message. I am a Debian developer, and actually our normal platform is Debian.
