BTW: I just realized that you are "the" John Goerzen, author of the
"Foundations of Python Network Programming" book.
This was the best recent Python book that I've read, and a worthy
successor to GvR et al. "Internet Programming with Python", written
almost 10 years before.
Yup, that's me. Thanks for the kind words. I didn't expect to be
recognized
here ;-)
Well we used to be a big Zope shop, we wrote a whole ECM framework on
top of it (CPS).
So python's very dear to a number of us, and we're bringing all we
can from our previous experience to the Nuxeo EP world.
Cheers,

Too bad there isn't a chapter about SOAP in your book, but given that
it was written in 2004 and that at that time SOAP support in Python
was in a state of flux, that's an arguable decision.
It was actually in the plan. If memory serves, when it came time
to write
it, neither of the two main SOAP frameworks at the time worked well
enough
for me to provide sample code that worked reliably.
Incidentally, I think I forgot to reply to your question about Debian
packaging in a different message. I am a Debian developer, and
actually our
normal platform is Debian. If I gain enough knowledge about how
this works
to feel comfortable doing it, I'll make packages.
