If you want to tank Joomla just google security alerts, the php* script kiddie hack of the week, etc. Joomla gives you more of what the average person has in mind by the term "portal", has lots of shiny bells/whistles, but is more focused on wcm than true portal, imho. If you want a java based portal, might want to take a peek at Jetspeed. If PHP based something _must_ get the nod for political reasons, might want to check out e107. > So I'm looking for comparison between Nuxeo and other similar ECM in > order to be able to objectively help my boss to choose. To be honest, I > do prefer Nuxeo but I have to be helped! ;) I suggest you may want to more clearly define your needs and objectives first before you just say "my boss wants a portal" and start forging ahead in pursuit of the latest media darling buzzwords. What is your boss's concept of a "portal". If that's a left handed smoke shifter, then that's what you'd best focus on delivering... If what your boss has in mind is more along the lines of a WCM, then look at Plone, e107, etc. If really wants a portal, check out jetspeed at apache.org. Now, that all being said, Nuxeo is maturing nicely as an ECM, Enterprise Content Management system. If you want/need an ECM, then in the FOSS world, you've basically got two choices, Nuxeo and Alfredo. The latter has been around longer but I'd pass unless you're really want to chew us some man power hours, build something that nobody but you understands, etc., -- Best regards, Ken Gunderson Q: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. A: Why is putting a reply at the top of the message frowned upon? _______________________________________________ ECM mailing list [email protected] http://lists.nuxeo.com/mailman/listinfo/ecm
