The sample is a plugin. Nuxeo is OSGI oriented (upon Equinox like Eclipse) and so the purpose is to show how to push into practice the various extension points. have a look to the draft of the new technical manual since the core of Nuxeo has changed somewhat between 5.1 and 5.2 (i.e. event handler).
Using Nuxeo as a simple repository? Well : what about the workflow? Your company may be interested not only to store and index documents but also to insert vlue addes anotations; index valuable data and so on... Simply speaking : out of the box Nuxeo permit you to add repositories, groups of users and upload document. I suppose you whant to do this "automaticaly" as a scheduled job?
