Hi, Aspect is a technical feature, you can easily get the same functiunnal flexibility by providing all schemas on the document type, and conditionnaly display the metadatas you need depending on values of other metadatas or contextual informations (such as user properties, ...). THis can be done using layouts with Nuxeo. A sample use case could be to have a preference in the workspace (or domain) where you can select what set of metadatas you want to use inside this workspace. Then, each time you click on "modify", you jsut display set of metadatas that has been choosen in the workspace preferences.
Regarding CIFS, you can also use webdav or wss implementation to provide "shared folder lilke" acces to documents.
