Hello,
We are considering developing a web-based booking
application that is (in certain sense) similar to
http://booking.com . As it seems that the large part of the
this application functionality in related to content
management (create, edit, delete, search, etc) we thought of
making use of Nuxeo as a platform. After going through a
couple of tutorials/articles on this site it's still not
clear enough how far we could go with the UI customization.
As our booking app is quite different form a 'standard'
documentum app we need either to develop our own
representation layer or significantly customize the
themes/templates which are provided by Nuxeo.
The first approach could be presented as
User interface (JFS 2.0)
|
Business layer
application logic (EJB 3.0) + Nuxeo Core/Services
|
Persistence layer
RDMS (PostgreSQL)
The second - not quite sure yet. We saw that it is possible
to change layouts using some xml files. But we think that
customizing xml files wouldn't be sufficient in our case as
we will really need to write some custom JSF pages. Is there
any way of extending UI with own custom JSF code?
Since the functionality of our application if beyond a
simple CMS we tend to go for the first approach. But on the
other hand we would like to reuse as much as possible and
prefer not to waste time on creating our own UI from scratch
if possible.
Thank you,
Valery
