Thanks for your feedback, and the patch.
This is great, since now on FreeBSD I have the exact same
error message that I got in CentOS (sorry to disagree with
the last point in your post), this at least makes debugging
simpler:
01:10:05,575 WARN [OOoManagerComponent] OpenOffice was
not found, JOD Converter won't be available: invalid
officeHome: it doesn't contain soffice.bin: /usr/
local/openoffice.org-3.3.0/openoffice.org3/program
This is hair-pullingly infuriating since that's exactly
where soffice.bin is:
# whereis soffice.bin
soffice.bin:
/usr/local/openoffice.org-3.3.0/openoffice.org3/program/soff
ice.bin
I've followed both steps above, system.properties now
contains:
derby.system.home=${nuxeo.data.dir}/derby
org.nuxeo.launcher.libdirs=lib
h2.baseDir=${nuxeo.data.dir}/h2
office.home=/usr/local/openoffice.org-3.3.0/openoffice.org3
office.profile=/root/.openoffice.org
and, I've replaced the stock supplied jodconverter-core...
with the one in your link.
Hope this gives more to work with.
For what it's worth, the firewall is switched off, I'm
running this as root, and even in CentOS, I finally
completely disabled SELinux to rule it out as an
over-zealous enforcer (which threw a number of other errors
while running in strict mode).
