Anne D writes "a new spiritual relationship to the world around
us is the only way I can imagine turning it around" and
"spiritual 'conversion' is necessary for societal conversion".

Anne, I dont mean that you literally want to "save" those non
metaphysicalists among us, just that the way you speak of
spirituality being the only way to "save the world" :) in the
environmental sense (as I understand you) reminds me of Christian
rhetoric. If spiritual enlightenment *is* the only way to change
society then that leaves me nowhere. I dont relate to nature
spiritually (though I guess I do emotionally), I enjoy knowing
about it - what things are, what they do.

Later, I'll probably contradict myself a la Walt Whitman: as I'm
fond of saying, "I'm a Virgo, that's why I dont believe in
astrology."
