Thank you kindly for your thoughts on pursuing diversity of
opinion. I've been hounded so much lately by censors both at work
and on this list, your comments almost bring a tear to my eye.

Riane Eisler's passage on conflict, and indeed her whole book
"Chalice & the Blade," is IMHO very profound. A good rule of
thumb, I think. Especially in these days of societal fragmentation
with thousands of groups yelling at each other. Yelling is easy;
listening is hard.
Yes, it's wonderful to have more and more women becoming
scientists, technicians, public leaders, etc. I've met dozens and
dozens on my job, and they dispell any notion idiots might have
about men being intellectually superior. We're not, of course.
There ARE noticable differences in male and female approaches to
problem solving. WE NEED BOTH APPROACHES. Hence, my interest in
this list.
The feminism pendulum is swinging backward these days, with many
gender feminists being attacked for extremism. Such extremists do
need to chill out a bit, because they're hurting their cause with
excessive anger and false claims. But some of their opponents go
too far the other way and deny the existence of a patriarchal
system. Perhaps Eisler's book is a good middle ground to help us
out of this mess.
