>From where I'm sitting, which is NOT on a campus, it seems that ecofem, like
feminism, is diffusing outward into society, being claimed by women who have
never experienced the "circles of language correction" and focus on tiny
detail so fashionable (or perhaps simply inevitable?) at university. Women
are saying "I am a feminist. I am an environmentalist. I see that the two
issues are inextricably linked. I have decided that I must resist. I am an
ecofeminist."
I also think the fact that we all come to these issues in our own way -
scientists and witches and boths and neithers - makes this movement
difficult to easily define. Certainly it means that our reputation will
always be attackable in any circle. At least we're used to it.
