Seems nearly all of us bring up many good points - pro & con - on
"meat eating." And there are MANY good reasons (IMHO) to NOT eat
meat, but a few reasons that most of us actually should!

"BAD" for you? Yes, greed has caused ranchers, etc., to overfeed
and "drug-up" (my term) animals for food sale.
THIS and other reasons having to do with ecosystems
regarding toxic food-chain problems can make this
                   true.
Inherent in meat (particularly red meat) is high
cholesterol, fat and other "no-no's" everyone is
                   concerned with.

"Veggies cheaper?" Shoot no! As a single person, I throw away too
many fresh foods as they need to be eaten right
away. No such thing as "FAST veggie food." (Un-
less you live in or next to a market...) We could
spend our entire HOME life in the kitchen - but I
                   certainly balk at THAT!
There are many non-meat dishes that I dearly LOVE,
but they are not only EXPENSIVE (wheat germ, nuts,
"esoteric flours," etc.) but very time consuming to
fix! I actually consider them treats!

"Meats & men?" Well, what can I say. I think this is mostly a
macho thing; ridicule by their "buddies" is what's
feared usually. I've fed men veggie dishes, and
when NO ONE ELSE is AROUND, they will admit they
LOVE it!!! This psychological problem is actually
                   a whole other discussion...............

Basically, I believe that we *ALL* should "know" our bodies; we do not
all assimilate nutrients in the same way. We all have our special
needs. In fact, in an optimum world we might have an "Rx" for what we
should and should not eat!

I have a big problem with the way animals are treated - whether for
profit, alleged "pets" or for research purposes. But just "not eating
meat" is not going to stop this abuse. A blanket statement like that
doesn't get the specific problems/causes/remedies addressed.

And - sorry, guys! Pizza is a whole other ballgame! You *CAN* have a
"veggie pizza," you know! But, as I've always said - you can get a
STEAK dinner for what you'd pay for a decent pizza anyway! So much
for veggie economics!!!!
