I enjoyed Helen's reply. Personally, I am not sure that the
developmental process of caring moves toward codependence. (any more
than a developed stage of liberation requires oppressing another.) I
treasure the friends I have, who have developed capacities to listen and
care. For whatever reason women develop this it may not always
contribute to advancement on a career track, in an environment of
downsizing it may contribute value. I am certain it increases the
quality of life, (to create a caring context.) Because of the other
agendas of the workplace, intricate affiliation might take attention and
perseverance. No less reason to begin.
