Lee,  just a couple of ideas - I guess that the bleaching process must be a
problem - though I know that here in Australia they are packaging some
tampon boxes to say that the tampons aren't bleached.  Also, the production
of cotton itself is a shocker!! in environmental terms - you might want to
check that out as well,
