In order for this to be reasonable it requires the assumption that whatever our
ancestors did was moral. That seems obviously false. Our ancestors [non-human,
proto-human and human] may not have known [in some cases could not have known]
what they were doing. That would only show that SOMETIMES eating meat is not
IMmoral, for example, as it isn't for cats. The question, then, would be what
conditions must be met in order for that to be true. I suggest that the eater
cannot be a moral agent and so the eating of meat in this case is Amoral. If
that is correct, then the immorality/morality issue has not been touched for
creatures such as ourselves [i.e., moral agents].

PS: I write only of ethics, since I have no idea what "spiritually wrong" could
mean.

brian,

you are writing too much on this list. and since you ARE a man..woops i
mean since you are penised...it comes across as silencing, intimidating
and paternalistic. you dont have to give your opinion to every single
thing said you know. the list will go on without your input.
