I'm sorry, i've said it so every one i can a hundred times! i'll explain what
happened, one of my firends ( now trying to become my friend again ) that uses freenet
"hacked" or used my account when i was gone, wrote those e-mails. I'm sorry, i've sent
this explaination to every one i could but i still am getting e-mails after e-mail
yelling at me because of the person that didi this to me. please all i want is to be
kicked oof this mailing sig and to get your forgiveness. (sorry for any spelling
mistakes but i int that good at it)

There was an episode of the Simpsons where Lisa was really upset by a
talking Barbie-Cindy type doll. The doll said stuff like "When will I ever
have enough clothes?", "Don't ask me, I'm just a girl" and "Why don't they
teach shopping in school?". Lisa contacted the company that made the doll,
and complained about its sexist language.
This episode is one of my favourites. It portrayed a cult (mostly adults,
including Mr Smithers) that had formed around the doll and was unwilling to
listen to, or was defensive about, Lisa's criticisms of the doll. Lisa
looked right back into the history of the doll, and was inspired by the
woman who originally developed the doll, but who had been sold out by the
toy company.
Lisa decided to make her own doll, one that says positive things. (I don't
know if the doll was made from sustainable materials, or under good working
conditions; Lisa is more of a liberal than an ecofeminist, I suppose.)
Unfortunately, her doll didn't sell.

Does anyone remember the BLO: Barbie Liberation Organisation? A few X-mases
ago, this group somehow managed to swap the voiceboxes of talking Barbies
and GI Joes. When kids unwrapped their GI Joes on the big day, they said
"When will I ever have enough clothes?", and the Barbies said "Get down --
I'll cover you!" or some such thing.

Thanks for reminding me of Feral Cheryl, Lisa. Have you ever seen one for
sale? I haven't. From what I heard, she also had hairy armpits and hairy
legs. I don't know about ferals being an extreme of hippy culture, they also
borrow heavily from punk, which set itself up in opposition to hippydom
(correct me if I'm wrong, I was only five in 1977).
