Dear Neutopia,

I'm very sorry that you believe I, ECOFEM or csf are being
dictatorial. I did not ask you to leave ECOFEM, nor did I suggest
that your topic was unsound. Rather, I asked you to consider the
length and personal detail of posts. I would do the same for anyone
posting to ECOFEM in such a manner. For example, if someone wrote to
ECOFEM specifically citing you as a "problem" and wished to discuss
you, rather than the concept of power relationships, patriarchy,
etcetrea, then I would also intervene. This is because it is
inappropriate to discuss personal details, feuds, etcetera on ECOFEM.
Having said this, it does not banish or censor discussions related
to your experiences. My last e-mail did not imply or explictly state
such a position.

I am sorry you see this issue in such a black & white manner. It
would be good to discuss issues of patriarchy and domination in the
ecovillage movement on ECOFEM; I support that. Indeed, I have not
commented negatively on your other posts regarding possibilities for
a listserve to discuss such issues. I also support open dialogue
which is empowering. I understand that releasing anger can be part
of such empowerment practices. However, as a coordinator and
moderator of ECOFEM, I also have to consider the discursive fabric of
the whole list. This is why I wrote to you.

If you believe such consideration for the others, in the form of
message length and personal detail, is too prohibitive or
disempowering, then I accept your decision to leave ECOFEM. However,
I do not accept the claim that this is a dictatorial list. Rules are
stipulated in the welcome and in the monthly reminder messages. I am
not changing the rules or applying "special rules" for you. Indeed,
my forwarding the message to the csf administrator is part of the
standard procedures I operate under. I am sorry you felt this was a
form of intimidation. I assure you, no such intent--express or
implied--existed in my last message. I simply hoped we could discuss
this, so a form of communication and dialgue appropriate for you and
ECOFEM could be derived. I'm sorry this is not possible. However,
should you feel like changing your mind, it would be good to see you
again on ECOFEM.

I wish you all the best.

I gave up! You "ecofeminist" dictators have won! You can have your listserv
free of Doctress Neutopia and her terrible writings that are so, so personal!
I write in a personal style in order to tell the suppression I am
experiencing. Your email to me is part of the suppression! By joining
this listserv I was hoping to find like-minded spirit who would be
supportive and interested my struggle against the Ecovillage patriarchy
and matriarchy which supports them. I don't see this email as constructive,
kind or understanding. So I am leaving this listserv since you even went
to the Top Man in charge of the listserv about my essays! I think it is
a crime that you sent me such an email to intimate me.
