Kathy,
I'm the high school student who was the writing the ecofeminist essay. That
is a really interesting point about Pocahontas though and I might do that for
an upcoming paper. Do you happen to know of any books or articles that would
have touched on the subject? I could even broaden it to be Disney movies
glamorizing legends to make them "Child like" and "stereotypical". Any info
would be great.

Can't; help you with too many specifics here, Jess, but you might want to
have a look at the Walt Dizzy version of "Beauty and the Beast" in light of
abused women. There is a *ton* of literature out there on battered women
syndrome (LenoreWalker is the place to start, even tho' she was going to
testify for the defense in the O.J. case !!) -- anyway, the cartoon
reinforces the "myth" that any man can be "loved"/"tamed" into becoming a
prince -- with the help of the love of the right women. That might make a
good paper.
