To keep them from killing even more people, since by already killing
they have demonstrated the capacity to do this. Remember, Osama
Bin Ladin's people didn't send all those people in Egypt, Kenya and
Tanzania to life imprisonment - they KILLED them. Also, he would
most likely continue directing and financing terrorist operations,
through his lawyers, from prison.
