Yes we do have a long way to go, in my opinion, but we have also
accomplished so much. I think before look to government and the
political/legal system for help, we need to look at the way people think. I
once heard a great quote about preconceptions: "Preconceptions are like
water to fish". We are raised to believe certain things, that boys can get
dirty and be loud, but girls must stay clean and pretty and act like
ladies. There is so much to change, but in my opinion, it must start with
the way you raise a child.
