How then do humans have the power over the rest of nature? Isn't nature part
of our destiny?
++Humans have immense power to destroy this planet through deforestation,
pollution and manipulation of numbers and species of animals (globally)
including causing the "extinction" of many animals while we overpopulate the
planet ourselves. If there is a God then God has created humans and an
"Eden" and has stepped back to let us manage or caretake Eden. I don't think
that
people have the common sense (collectively) to caretake this planet properly.
We have intelligence and seemingly God like powers in our abilities to
Genetically engineer crops (interfering with nature) and our ability (in
some cases) to prolong life but we lack *common sense*. Nature is part of
the world we live in and rather than have a respect for nature, humans
ignore the balance of nature and continue on their collective path to
destruction.
Re: you post about abortion and unwanted pregnancies - you are very good at
blaming God for everything bad in the world - as if the people themselves did
not fall under some darkness in their own souls- Does God get any credit for
all the good in the world - the good that sustains us in nature and what about
light of goodness that shines through in good souls?
++I didn't blame God for everything bad. You said that we should accept God
into our lives and that you are pro-creation (are you anti-abortion? does
your belief allow for contraception?). People are only human Angela, they
succumb to physical needs including the need for sex and closeness and
comfort. Religion
constantly denies this (not God but RELIGIONS) and Religions place severe
restrictions on what people should and should not do. I am not anti God
Angela but anti-religion and anti-restriction on human control over their
own bodies. Recently we had new laws passed in my state after someone tried
claim abortions were illegal (under our male dominated laws). Things became
very nasty and people had to take sides. It was very interesting to see
those with *certain religious beliefs* trying to influence the outcomes of
legislation in parliament affecting *us all* (including women waiting for
abortions). I detest and deplore males (and females) who believe in God and
who have certain religious beliefs *daring* to try and impose their will
(especially through legislation) over the rest of us.
People with strong religious beliefs can do what they like as far as I'm
concerned but they have *no right* to try and impose *their collective
wills* on the rights of others.
I do believe that the need for abortions would be less if people again exercised
*common sense* and used contraception more widely (but even *the pill* has a
failure rate) and sometimes unfortunately, unwanted pregnancies occur.

++Well I hope your belief is grounded Angela. I hope you look around you and
see how humankind who had the potential to live in harmony with the animals and
ecosystems on this planet has made a complete mess of things so far
(including exploiting the planet , pollution, and overpopulating) and how
perhaps we are heading for collective doom (I suppose some religious person
will now start quoting the end of the world from the bible) or someone else
will quote Nostrodamus.
