Simone deBeauvoir's famous distinction between sex and gender -- that one
is not a born a woman, but rather becomes one -- has served to inspire a
generation of feminist theory and activism.

Arguable, various contestations of the sex/gender distinction inaugurate a
new turn in feminism, and has opened the field for queer theory and
practices.

Our panel will explore the reworking of sex and gender at the
intersection of feminist and queer theory.
Possible themes include:

-Queer subjects between sex and gender
reworking lesbian/gay/trans/bi identities
-Queer flesh, queer bodies
-Performativity and Citationality
-Coalitional politics, running through Queer and Feminist politics
-Queer and technology
-Queer Cyborgs
-Queer and Race
-Representation and reproduction @ Queer Nation
-Queer and theories of sexual difference
